What's Happening at LISD TV
Welcome To LISD-TV
In 1985 LISD-TV started out in a classroom at Dunbar-Struggs High School. Some key pieces of equipment and a designated channel were donated by Cox Communications.
Six students were part of the original LISD-TV crew. Along with their instructor, Dr. Alice French, these students began learning what it takes to make a TV station run. As more students became involved and programming expanded, LISD-TV moved to a larger facility: the former library on the Struggs campus.
Today LISD-TV is housed in a state of the art facility adjacent to the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center. The facility and the program both serve as models for educational access stations across the nation. Current LISD-TV students do everything from shooting and editing to producing their own programs.
For 25 years, LISD-TV has provided the community with educational programming and opportunities for students to gain hands on experience in the television industry.
